Once your application form has been submitted through Ravenna, along with the $75 application fee, you will be able to self-schedule your tour and interview, and your son’s school visit.

You will meet with Heidi Gore, Director of Admissions, for an interview. For your convenience, you may schedule an in-person or virtual interview. During the interview, parents will be able to ask questions and learn more about Buckley. If you wish to have a virtual interview, please contact the Admissions Office immediately after scheduling the interview.

We look forward to meeting your son at Buckley. During his visit, he will enjoy a variety of activities with a small group of his peers. Visits will take place on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9:15 am. Only one adult needs to accompany your son on his visit to Buckley. Boys should be dressed comfortably for their visit.

The ISAAGNY Confidential School Report is a comprehensive recommendation form from your son’s current school. Please request that the form be completed by your son’s teacher, nursery or program school director. The form, available through Ravenna, should then be submitted to Buckley Admissions electronically. The ISAAGNY Confidential School Report must be received in order for your application to be complete.

If your son is a sibling or legacy candidate, you may, in accordance with ISAAGNY policy, select “Early Notification” on the application. We advise all siblings and legacy families to apply to a variety of schools. Parents should schedule their parent interview after their son's school visit. All Buckley applicants are evaluated according to the same grade-specific admissions criteria to ensure an appropriate fit with our learning environment and create a vibrant and compelling class.

As a member of ISAAGNY, The Buckley School adheres to these notification and reply dates. Applications must be completed by Thursday, January 8, 2026. For applicants requesting early notification, files must be completed by Wednesday, November 26, 2025. 

Applications for all other grades are reviewed based upon anticipated openings for the upcoming year. For interested families, please complete this inquiry form. Once we have received your inquiry, we will contact you to discuss the next steps. All required forms described below are available through Ravenna.

Inquiry Form

The Admissions Office will contact you to schedule a school visit and interview. Families will be given a comprehensive tour of the School and will meet with a member of the Admissions team. This visit will coincide with your son’s interview.

• Class I: Arrange for your son’s current school to submit the ISAAGNY Confidential Report.
• Classes II-V: Submit the Buckley Transcript Release Form to your son’s current school and request that his homeroom teacher complete the ISAAGNY Confidential School Reference Form.
• Classes VI and above: Submit the Buckley Transcript Release Form to your son’s current school and ask that his teachers complete the ISAAGNY English Evaluation, the ISAAGNY Mathematics Evaluation, and the ISAAGNY Confidential Evaluation.

• Class I: The Buckley School does not require standardized testing.
• Classes II-IV: We require the ISEE Primary administered by ERB (Educational Records Bureau). 
• Classes V and above: We require the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) administered by ERB (Educational Records Bureau).
