Financial Assistance CommitmentFamilies earning $100,000 or less annually and with limited financial resources are eligible for full tuition coverage, which includes books, lunch, technology, athletics, arts programs, grade-level trips, and extracurricular activities. For our afterschool program, nominal fees will apply. |
Application Process & Deadlines
Submit a Clarity Application Online
The Buckley School uses Clarity to help determine a family’s level of financial need through a comprehensive review of assets, income, expenses, and debts.
To get started, submit a Clarity application online. You must authorize Clarity to access your 2024 Federal tax filings and related schedules. In addition, you will be required to submit the following documents: your most recent pay stub, a tuition statement for other tuition-charging schools (if applicable), and business tax documents (if applicable). Additional documentation may be requested as well.
Separate Applications for Divorced, Separated, or Never-Married Parents
Divorced, separated or never-married parents are expected to submit individual financial assistance applications through Clarity.
Reapply for Financial Assistance Each Year
Because financial circumstances change, parents must reapply for financial assistance each year.
Confidentiality of Applications and Awards
All financial assistance applications and grant awards are completely confidential.
Assistance Decisions Are Independent of Admissions
The Financial Assistance Committee makes all assistance decisions independently of admissions decisions.
Financial Assistance Application Deadline
The deadline for completing the financial assistance application for families applying for Early Decision is Monday, November 3, 2025. For New and Returning Families, it is Monday, December 8, 2025.

How do we apply for Financial Assistance?
The Buckley School uses Clarity.
If applying for Financial Assistance, do I have to pay the admissions application fee?
No, families who are applying for Financial Assistance will be provided with a waiver code when filling out the application form on Ravenna.
Is Financial Assistance available for expenses beyond tuition?
Financial Assistance is available for participation in school-related activities such as school sponsored community events and after-school programs (Boomerang). Financial Assistance for those fees are based proportionally on the amount of Financial Assistance a family receives.
Can students at any grade level apply for Financial Assistance?
Financial Assistance is available to students at any grade level at The Buckley School.
Does applying for Financial Assistance hurt my chances of being admitted?
No. Admission to Buckley is need-blind. Applicants are evaluated without regard to a request for Assistance.
Do returning students need to reapply for Financial Assistance each year?
Yes, each year a family must reapply for Financial Assistance for the following academic year. Unless a family's financial situation changes dramatically, a family can expect a similar amount of financial assistance each year.
If we enter the school without Financial Assistance, can we apply for (and receive) Assistance later?
Typically, if a family does not apply for Financial Assistance when first admitted to Buckley, the family is not eligible to apply until the student has attended Buckley for three years. However, if a family experiences a significant financial hardship, or financial circumstances change dramatically, the family may contact Corey Durney, Chief Financial Officer at [email protected] or 212-535-8787, ext. 280.
