Big Loss

Coach Wieners
To say that it is difficult to find a highlight in the midst of a 10-2 loss is an understatement at best.  The Collegiate 7th graders were faster, more aggressive, better passers, and communicated efficiently the entire game.  They scored 5 goals each half and allowed only a handful of opportunities to Buckley the entire game.  Griffin Spolansky scored the first Buckley goal in the 19th minute off of an assist by Bill Langdon to close the lead to 3-1.  The second goal was scored in the 53rd minute of play following a scrum in the box in which no less than 3 kicks missed the ball before Peter Koch was able to corral it in the back of the net.  William Ettinger learned a lot in goal, spelling Jon Yalof in the first half when the coaches realized that Jon's offensive talents were needed at the forward position.  It was heartening to see most of the Buckley boys continued to play hard the entire game despite the score, especially Mohamed Diaw, James Judelson, and Theo Ford.
