Buckley Drive for Puerto Rico

This week the boys are giving back by support Puerto Rico and the people affected by Hurricane Maria. The Upper School boys were busy on Friday making signs for each bin and drop off location.

Greg O’Melia, Headmaster, wrote to the community last week about this devastation, the conversations we are having with our students, and what it is we can do to help. He wrote about how, “service to others is an important part of the Buckley experience, and I would encourage you to involve your son in selecting which items to donate.” These items can include diapers, baby wipes, portable lanterns and flashlights, cases of water, baby food, batteries, first aid supplies, and any other non-perishable, non-second hand, non-liquid items.

While getting to work, the boys discussed where are they imagined the items were going and how else they could contribute to those affected by the recent natural disasters.

Buckley is our established staging site for donations. All items will then be delivered to one of the official collection sites. There will be large containers for donations in the Walsh Building lobby at 113 East 73rd Street and in the Hubball Building lobby at 210 East 74th Street from Monday, October 2 to Wednesday, October 4. Please, help us fill these bins to aid those in dire need!
